Tila is the Unani term for a medicated oil applied to the skin rather than swallowed, and Badshahi — royal — is the name given to the richest of these preparations. Laraib compounds it as the old formularies describe: a light carrier oil carrying warming aromatics, worked slowly so the actives are properly drawn in. Discreet, external, and made to be used sparingly.
What it is traditionally used for
- Traditional support for men’s vitality and general local wellbeing
- Encouraging healthy circulation in the tissue it is massaged into
- Supporting local muscle tone and firmness
- Addressing the weakness and loss of condition attributed in Unani texts to over-indulgence
- Part of a regular, unhurried self-care routine rather than a one-off remedy
How it is made
Warming aromatics are steeped in a cold-pressed sesame and olive base and held at a controlled low temperature for several days, so their volatile oils transfer without being scorched. The oil is then filtered clear and filled into small glass bottles. All botanicals are single-origin, and no mineral oil, synthetic fragrance or artificial preservative is used.
How to take it
For external use only. Apply four to six drops to clean, dry skin and massage gently for a few minutes, once at night before sleeping. Do not apply to broken skin or mucous membrane. Wash your hands afterwards. Try a single drop on the inner forearm first to check that your skin agrees with it.
Good to know
- Concentrated 10 ml glass bottle — a month’s use at four to six drops a night
- For external application only; never to be swallowed
- 100% natural, with no mineral oil or synthetic fragrance
- Dispatched in plain, unmarked outer packaging

Ordered after reading about the classical formula. No mineral oil smell, which is what put me off other brands. Four drops is genuinely enough. One bottle has lasted me the full month as described.

Been using this nightly for about six weeks. It is a routine, not a miracle, and I think that is the right way to approach it. Quality is clearly better than the loose oils sold in the bazaar here.

Packaging was plain, which matters to me, and delivery to Sargodha took four days. The oil is light and absorbs quickly rather than sitting greasy on the skin. Scent is warm and mild. Bottle is small for the price.
