In every Pakistani household there is an older woman who knows exactly what a new mother should drink. More often than not, it is dasmol — the ten classical roots, distilled together, given daily through the forty days of nifas. Laraib makes it as it has always been made, and bottles it unsweetened under DRAP registration.
What it is traditionally used for
- Traditionally taken to support the natural cleansing (nifas) that follows childbirth
- Given through the forty-day recovery period as a strengthening daily drink
- Long used to ease the general weakness and aching that follow a delivery
- Traditionally taken to help the abdomen tighten and settle back towards its shape
- Used to clear the wind and digestive heaviness so common after a birth
How it is made
The ten roots are cleaned, chopped and soaked overnight, then charged into a single still together so the finished water carries the whole blend in balance rather than ten waters mixed afterwards. A long, low-steam run brings it over slowly. Single-origin Pakistani roots, distilled and filled in Multan, with nothing artificial added.
How to take it
Half a glass, about 60 ml, morning and evening, plain or with a little warm water. It is earthy rather than sweet, and a spoon of honey makes it easier for those who dislike the taste. Tradition is to begin a few days after the birth and continue through the forty days.
Good to know
- 800 ml bottle — roughly a fortnight’s supply at the traditional dose
- DRAP registration number 0803812113
- Naturally sugar-free 100% natural distillate
- Refrigerate after opening; supportive care, never a substitute for post-natal check-ups

It helped me through my nifas and I would buy it again. The taste is earthy and not for everyone — I mixed mine with warm water and a little honey. I do wish the bottle came with a measuring cup.

Bought two bottles. My wife says it settled her stomach and the swelling in the first weeks went down quicker than she expected. Delivered sealed to Mianwali in four days.

I am a dai in DG Khan and I have been recommending dasmol for thirty years. Laraib’s is properly made, and the mothers who take it complain less of backache and weakness afterwards.

Ordered this for my wife after our first baby, on my mother’s instruction. She drank it through the forty days and got back on her feet much faster than her sister did. We have already sent a bottle to a cousin.
