Shabab means youth, and awar means bringing — a name Unani hakeems gave to formulas meant to return some of what the years take. Safoof Shabab Awar leans on ashwagandha and white musli, the two great restoratives of the subcontinental pharmacopoeia. It is a tonic in the proper sense: taken daily, quietly, for what it builds over months.
What it is traditionally used for
- Traditionally taken as a muqawwi-e-bah — a classical restorative for male vigour
- Long used to strengthen the vital organs described in Unani as aza-e-raeesa
- Taken in advancing years to help keep the body active, agile and alert
- Used to relieve nervous weakness, low stamina and general debility
- Traditionally taken to support confidence and steadiness of mind with age
How it is made
Ashwagandha and musli roots are cleaned, sliced and shade-dried over days, then stone-ground at low speed so their alkaloids are not lost to friction heat. Cardamom is added late in the mill to keep its aroma. All roots are single-origin, most from Nagori-grade ashwagandha stock. Nothing artificial is added at any point.
How to take it
Take one level teaspoon (about 5 g) in a cup of warm milk at night, or with honey if you prefer it sweeter. Take it every day rather than occasionally — restoratives of this kind are judged after six to eight weeks, not after one. Many men continue through the winter months.

Solid tonic and fairly priced. Takes a while — do not expect anything in the first two weeks. Mixes better in hot milk than warm.

Bought it for my father in Sahiwal, ended up taking it myself as well. Sleep is deeper and I wake up without that heaviness. Good pure musli, not diluted.

Fifty-six and I was tired by four in the afternoon every day. Two months on this in milk at night and that afternoon slump has gone. The ashwagandha smell is strong but honest.
