Babuna — chamomile — is the gentlest of the Unani flowers, and the one hakeems reach for when a body is tense rather than injured. Laraib steeps whole dried flower heads in a light base oil until it carries their faint apple scent, then filters it clear. It is an oil made for slow, unhurried massage at the end of a long day.
What it is traditionally used for
- Massaged into the body to bring relief in muscular and joint pain
- Long valued as an anti-spasmodic (dafa-e-tashannuj) for cramps and tightness
- Applied to help fade marks, dark patches and blemishes on the skin
- Rubbed gently over swellings and lumps to help the body dissolve them
- Used for a calming full-body massage when sleep is restless
How it is made
Dried babuna flower heads from a single-origin highland supply are steeped whole in a light cold-pressed base and drawn over gentle heat for several hours — never boiled, which would burn off the flower’s delicate character. The oil is then pressed off, settled and filtered until clear. Nothing artificial is added: no mineral oil, no synthetic chamomile essence, no colour.
How to take it
For external use only. Warm a small amount in the palms and massage into the aching muscle, joint or marked skin with light circular strokes for five to ten minutes, once or twice daily. For blemishes, apply a thin film at night and leave it on. For cramp, massage the moment it begins.
Good to know
- 60 ml bottle for daily massage — around three to four weeks of regular use
- DRAP registered under product number 0803740423
- 100% pure and natural, with no mineral oil, essence or added fragrance
- Light and gentle enough for daily use, including on sensitive skin

Lovely gentle oil, absorbs quickly and does not stain clothes. My only wish is a larger bottle — for a full-body massage 60 ml disappears fast, and posting from Bahawalpur each month adds up.

Bought it for the dark marks on my shins after an old bike injury. Six weeks of nightly application in Okara and they have faded noticeably. Also good on my shoulders after work.

I get night cramps in my calves and this stops them within a minute or two of massaging. The chamomile scent is faint and lovely, nothing like the harsh medicated oils. My whole family in Lahore uses it now.
