Aujaa simply means pains, and khass means special — this is the stronger of the two Laraib massage oils, made for the knees that ache before rain and the lower back that never quite settles. Suranjan, methi and asgand are drawn into a sesame base over slow heat, the classical Unani approach to rheumatic and neuromuscular complaints.
What it is traditionally used for
- Massaged into painful joints and the lower back for lasting relief
- Long used in gathiya — rheumatic and arthritic pain, including rheumatoid arthritis
- Applied along the leg in sciatica (irq-un-nisa) and shooting nerve pain
- Used for neuromuscular pain, and to strengthen muscles left weak after long pain
- Rubbed into sprains and strains as an external application
- Worked into stiff joints in cold weather when movement is hardest
How it is made
The anti-rheumatic herbs are macerated in a cold-pressed sesame base and then drawn over low, controlled heat for hours until the oil carries their full character — never boiled, which would flatten it. Root and seed come from single-origin growers we have used for two decades. The oil is filtered clear and bottled with nothing artificial: no mineral oil, no synthetic menthol, no colour.
How to take it
For external use only. Warm 3–5 ml between the palms and massage firmly into the joint or along the affected muscle for ten minutes, twice daily. Wrap the area in a warm cloth afterwards and keep it covered for an hour. Most users find the greatest benefit after two to three weeks of steady daily use.
Good to know
- 60 ml bottle with carton — around three weeks of twice-daily massage
- DRAP registered under product number 0803812134
- 100% pure and natural; free from mineral oil, synthetic fragrance and colour
- Stronger than the standard Pain Oil — start with a small area if your skin is sensitive

Twisted my ankle badly playing cricket in Peshawar. The swelling and stiffness eased far quicker than last time. Warm the oil first, that makes a real difference to how deep it goes.

Effective on my shoulder, genuinely. It is a little dearer than the ordinary pain oils in Faisalabad and the 60 ml goes fast if you are treating two joints, but I do think it is a stronger oil.

My mother’s sciatica used to keep her awake. My brother massages it down her leg every night and she sleeps through now. Ordered three more bottles to Islamabad for the winter.

I have had gathiya in both knees for eleven years. Three weeks of morning and night massage in Gujranwala and I can climb the stairs to my shop without holding the rail. Stronger than the regular pain oil.
