Unani physicians read constipation as a problem of dryness rather than weakness, and they treated it by moistening the gut, not by whipping it. LacZolin follows that logic: senna in a restrained amount, softened with prune, tamarind and fennel so the bowel is coaxed rather than griped. Made under DRAP licence at Laraib’s Multan facility.
What it is traditionally used for
- Traditionally taken to relieve constipation gently, without cramping
- Used to correct the dryness of the intestines that Unani medicine holds responsible
- Long taken to ease piles aggravated by straining and hard stools
- Traditionally used for indigestion arising from a sluggish bowel
- Taken for the headache, catarrh and heaviness that follow days of constipation
How it is made
Prunes and tamarind are softened and pulped, senna leaf is infused briefly at low temperature so it stays mild, and the two are married with fennel and rose in a slowly reduced syrup. It is strained fine and filled at Multan. Fruit and leaf are single-origin, and nothing artificial is added.
How to take it
Adults take two tablespoons, about 30 ml, at bedtime with a glass of warm water; children over five take one teaspoon. Expect a comfortable motion the following morning rather than an urgent one. Use it as needed rather than every night, and keep your water intake up.

Reliable and tastes of prunes, which is fine. It takes a full night to work, so do not take it in the morning expecting anything quickly. Good price for what it does.

My mother is seventy-four and in Multan we have used this for years. It is mild, which is exactly the point. The harsh powders from the bazaar left her doubled over; this does not.

After my knee surgery I could barely move and everything backed up. Two spoons at night and a normal motion by morning, no cramping at all. That mattered more than I can say.
