Not every complaint has a name. Sometimes the family is simply run down — the child eating little, the mother sleeping badly, the father coming home grey after a long week. General Tonic is Laraib’s answer to that: an unfussy Unani strengthening syrup built on amla, munakka and warming aromatics, designed to be taken daily by anyone in the house.
What it is traditionally used for
- Restoring general strength and vitality during periods of fatigue
- Supporting recovery of appetite and energy after illness
- Serving as a daily natural tonic for every member of the family
- Supporting children through demanding school terms and growth spurts
- Helping the body cope with long working weeks and irregular meals
How it is made
The fruits and roots are simmered as a slow decoction until the extract is deep and concentrated, then filtered and reduced gently to syrup so the delicate constituents are not cooked away. Amla and munakka come from single-origin suppliers we have used for years. Nothing artificial is added — no synthetic vitamins, no colour, no flavouring.
How to take it
Shake the bottle first. Adults take two teaspoons (10 ml) twice daily, morning and evening; children from five to twelve take one teaspoon twice daily. It can be given straight from the spoon or stirred into a little warm milk at bedtime, which is how most families give it to children. Take it consistently for four to six weeks.

Good general tonic and my whole family uses it. Only issue is the 120 ml goes fast with four people taking it twice a day. Laraib should offer a bigger family bottle.

Tastes pleasant, faintly of amla and cardamom, so there is no fight at bedtime. I take it myself in the mornings. Reasonably priced compared to the imported multivitamins I was buying before.

We give a spoon to both children in warm milk at night. My younger one used to catch every cold going around the school in Abbottabad and this winter he missed only two days. Might be coincidence but we are continuing.

After my typhoid in March I could not eat properly for weeks. My hakeem in Multan put me on this and within ten days my appetite came back. I finished two bottles and feel like myself again.
