Every household knows the child who picks at food, tires by mid-afternoon and never quite fills out. Tiflin — from tifl, a child — was formulated for exactly that. It is a mild, sweet Unani tonic built around minerals and restorative herbs, made to be given daily over weeks so that appetite, weight and stamina return at their own pace rather than in a rush.
What it is traditionally used for
- Helping restore a child’s general physical health and condition
- Making up shortfalls of calcium and mineral salts in the body
- Supporting the strength of growing bones and teeth
- Encouraging a better appetite in a child who eats poorly
- Keeping children energetic and active through school terms
- Supporting recovery after illness, when strength is slow to return
How it is made
The mineral component is levigated to an exceptionally fine, easily assimilated powder, then suspended in a slowly reduced herbal decoction so it stays evenly dispersed in the syrup. Every ingredient is single-origin and identity-checked before compounding. No artificial colour, flavour, sweetener or preservative is used — important in something a child takes daily.
How to take it
Children aged five to twelve take one teaspoon twice a day; younger children over two take half a teaspoon twice a day. Give it after food, either straight or stirred into a little milk. Shake the bottle before each dose. Give it steadily for six to eight weeks for a fair assessment.

Ordered to Mardan and it came in three days, sealed and with a proper batch number printed. Both my children are on it through the winter term. Their teacher mentioned they seem less tired in class.

Good tonic and my son takes it in milk without noticing. Only reservation is the 120 ml size — at two doses a day it goes in under a fortnight, so for a course you need three or four bottles.

Our paediatrician had no objection when I asked, so we started it after my daughter’s chest infection. She was pale and listless for weeks afterwards. Colour and energy both back now. Remember to shake the bottle properly.

My six-year-old in Lahore weighed less than his younger cousin and ate nothing at breakfast. Two months on this and he finishes a paratha most mornings. Nothing dramatic, just steady. The taste is mild so there is no battle.
