Supari — betel nut — is one of the strongest astringents in the Unani cabinet, and sipari pak is the classical women’s preparation built around it. Laraib grinds the nut with silk-cotton gum and oak gall into a fine, dusky powder that has been a fixture of Pakistani households for decades. Straightforward, potent, and made to the original formula.
What it is traditionally used for
- Traditionally taken to tone the uterus and the organs related to it
- Long used as a reliable preparation for leucorrhoea (sailan-ur-rahm)
- Taken to check excessive fluid discharge over a sustained course
- Traditionally used to correct softness and laxity of the reproductive organs
- Regarded in classical practice as a strengthening tonic for the womb
How it is made
Whole betel nuts are graded, split and dried before being milled on slow stone, then blended with hand-broken gums and oak gall and sifted twice to a soft, even powder. The nuts are bought single-origin and rejected in whole lots if the colour is off. Nothing artificial is added — no sweetener, no filler, no preservative.
How to take it
Take one level teaspoon (about 5 g) in a cup of milk, twice daily after meals. Milk suits it far better than water, as the astringency is pronounced. A four-week course is usual, repeated after a break if your hakeem advises. Keep to a light, non-spicy diet while taking it.
Good to know
- Supplied in a 60 g jar; a four-week course typically needs two jars
- Manufactured in Laraib Herbal Pharma’s DRAP-licensed Multan facility
- 100% natural herbal powder with no additives of any kind
- Keep tightly sealed and dry — the gums attract moisture

Bought two jars for a full course as advised. Genuine Laraib packing with the seal intact. This is the same product our family hakeem in Multan dispenses loose.

It works, but be prepared for the astringency — it dries your mouth completely. I take it with a spoon of honey in the milk now, which helps a lot.

Ordered to Hyderabad after a friend recommended it. Fine powder, no gritty pieces, dissolves properly in warm milk. Backache eased along with everything else.

My mother used sipari pak and now I do. Four weeks with milk twice a day and the discharge has almost stopped. The taste is bitter and drying but you get used to it.
