Few remedies carry the standing that olive oil does — it is praised in scripture, prescribed in the Unani texts and kept in kitchens across the Muslim world. Laraib bottles it in its plainest and most useful form: cold-pressed, unrefined, and fit for both the skin and the spoon. This is the household oil that works from the outside and the inside at once.
What it is traditionally used for
- Smoothed over the face to brighten the complexion and even the skin’s tone
- Massaged into the scalp, where it has long been used against baldness and thinning
- Applied to end dryness of the skin and scalp through the cold months
- Used to leave the skin supple, comfortable and softly finished
- Taken by the spoonful each day to build stamina and steady bodily strength
How it is made
Olives from a single grove are pressed cold within hours of picking, so the polyphenols that give the oil its peppery finish and its keeping quality are never lost to heat. The oil is decanted, allowed to settle naturally and lightly filtered — never refined, bleached or deodorised. Nothing artificial is added at any stage.
How to take it
Internally, one teaspoon on an empty stomach each morning, or two teaspoons if you are building up strength after illness. Externally, warm a little between the palms and massage into the scalp twice a week, leaving it an hour before washing; on the face, smooth two or three drops over clean damp skin at night and let it absorb.

Abbottabad winters wreck my scalp every year. Warm this, massage in, leave an hour, wash. Flaking gone within a fortnight and my hair looks thicker at the front too.

Lovely on the skin, absorbs properly without leaving a film. My only note is that the 30 ml bottle finishes in about three weeks if you use it on face and hair both. Order the 60 ml. Sialkot.

Started taking a teaspoon daily after a long illness left me weak. Two months on I have more stamina at work in Karachi. Peppery aftertaste, which apparently means it is genuine unrefined oil.

A spoon every morning before fajr, as my father did all his life. I also use it on my face at night and at forty-six my skin needs no cream. Pure oil, and the price in Multan is fair.
