Taramira grows on the poorest soil in the Punjab and gives back an oil of surprising strength. It has never been fashionable — it smells of mustard and it stings a little on a scratched scalp — and yet it has outlasted every marketed hair product because it does the one thing asked of it. Laraib presses the seed and leaves it alone.
What it is traditionally used for

How it is made
Rocket seed from a single rain-fed Punjab crop is cleaned, lightly warmed and pressed in a slow expeller that never lets the temperature climb, so the pungent sulphur compounds that give taramira its bite survive the pressing. The oil is settled for several days and filtered once. Nothing artificial is added — no fragrance, no dye, no mineral oil.
How to take it
External use. Part the hair in sections and rub the oil directly into the scalp with the fingertips for ten minutes, twice a week, then draw whatever remains through the lengths. Leave for two hours or overnight and wash out with a mild shampoo. Give it two full months before you judge it; hair works on its own timetable.
