Chambeli has scented the courtyards of the subcontinent for centuries, and its oil has always been kept close at hand — a little on the crown after a long day, a little folded into the ubtan before a wedding. Laraib infuses single-origin jasmine blossom into a clean sesame base in Multan, unhurried and unadulterated, so the flower’s own character survives the bottling.
What it is traditionally used for
- Applied to the head, it is said to refresh the senses and bring strength to a tired brain
- Massaged over the body, it softens the skin and leaves it supple rather than greasy
- Long used to brighten and even out the complexion with regular application
- Blended into ubtan before weddings and celebrations, as families have done for generations
- Worked through the lengths, it is taken for thicker, stronger and shinier hair
How it is made
Fresh jasmine blossom is steeped in cold-pressed sesame oil and warmed gently over many hours, so the fragrance and the flower’s oil-soluble principles pass into the base without being scorched. The infusion is then filtered clear and bottled. Single-origin flowers, no mineral oil, no synthetic perfume and nothing artificial added.
How to take it
Warm about a teaspoon between the palms and work it into the scalp with the fingertips for a few minutes, two or three evenings a week. Leave it in for at least an hour — overnight is better — then wash out with a mild shampoo. For the skin, massage a few drops into damp arms and legs after bathing, or stir a spoonful into your ubtan paste.

- Made by Laraib Herbal Pharma, a DRAP-licensed Unani manufacturer in Multan since 1998
- Store away from sunlight; the oil may thicken in cold weather and clears again at room temperature

My wife has been using this on our daughter’s hair since winter. Less breakage when combing and the scalp is not flaky anymore. Reasonable price for something that is actually pure.

Lovely oil, I mix a spoon into my ubtan and my skin feels smooth for days. Only thing is it stains the pillowcase if you leave it overnight, so I put a towel down now. Delivery to Faisalabad took five days.

Bought it for the head massage after long shifts. Twenty minutes with this and the tightness behind my eyes settles down. Bottle is small but a teaspoon is genuinely enough, so it has lasted me almost three months.

I use this twice a week before washing my hair and the difference in shine is obvious. The jasmine smell is real and soft, not that sharp chemical perfume you get in shop oils. My mother in Multan now asks me to send her two bottles at a time.
