Reg mahi — the desert sand-fish — appears in the Unani formularies of the subcontinent as one of the classical animal-derived actives, always compounded into an oil for external application, never taken by mouth. Laraib prepares it the traditional way, carried in a cold-pressed base with warming aromatics, and registers the finished product with DRAP so buyers know exactly what they are holding.
What it is traditionally used for
- Traditional support where local weakness and loss of condition are a concern
- Helping maintain firmness and normal local tone
- Supporting healthy circulation in the tissue it is massaged into
- Traditional support in complaints attributed to habitual over-indulgence
- Part of a discreet, regular nightly routine rather than an occasional remedy
How it is made
The reg mahi active is prepared by the classical method and infused into a cold-pressed sesame base along with warming aromatics, held at low temperature over several days rather than boiled. The oil is then double-filtered until clear and bottled in small glass. Materials are single-origin, and no mineral oil, synthetic fragrance or artificial preservative is used.
How to take it
For external use only. Apply four to five drops to clean, dry skin and massage in gently for two to three minutes, once at night. Allow it to absorb fully before dressing, and wash your hands afterwards. Patch-test a single drop on the inner forearm before the first full application.

Have tried three brands from the Jhelum market and this is the only one that did not smell of kerosene. That alone tells you something about how it is made. Applying nightly, no complaints whatsoever.

Does its job as part of a nightly routine. Not cheap for 10 ml, though the sale price softened that. I patch-tested first as the label suggests and had no reaction. Would buy again if the offer returns.

Delivery to Rahim Yar Khan took three days in an unmarked parcel. Bottle is small but four drops really is the dose, so it is lasting well over a month. No irritation at all on my skin, which I was slightly worried about.

I wanted the classical formulation rather than a modern blend and this is genuinely it, with a registration number to back it up. Light on the skin, faint clove scent, gone in a minute. Six weeks in and satisfied.
